Gardening and Outdoor Learning

Gardening and Outdoor Learning is being led by Mr. Joseph and supported by the Science Leader Mrs Walls. Despite quite a disruptive year, together they (Mr. Joseph, Mrs Walls and the site team) have been able to ensure that all classes were able to contribute positively to the upkeep of the schools plant wildlife.

Each year group has a plant bed that they must plant specific seeds and nurture the plants during the academic year by watering regularly and ridding the plant beds of weeds.

Some year groups have made links with their science topics and planted additional seeds as part of their lessons.

In addition to the year group plant beds, children that work closely with the learning mentors are given an opportunity to take care of an additional flower bed through the year. There is also a gardening club that is run after school on Tuesday afternoons.
