The New Garfield Primary

Welcome to the  New Garfield

After years of planning and 2 years of building works, our new Garfield school is ready. This will be our third site in Garfield’s history. Originally a Victorian school on Garfield Road, we then moved into the current building in the 1970’s. I would like to thank all the staff, governors, parents, pupils and, of course, our local authority team for their ideas, imagination, vision and patience. Once we move in, our current school will be demolished (not the KS2 building) in order for phase B works to commence. This will involve creating outdoor play space for KS2 pupils.

The purpose of this booklet is to give you key information so that we can ensure a safe and smooth transition to our new premises. The wider leadership team (which includes our strong, dedicated governing body) have worked very hard to create new systems and procedures which we will closely review and refine over the next half term. We ask for your continued support over the next half term as we embed our new systems for the day to day running of the school. We know that once our 500 pupils and 70+ staff are in, we may notice the need to make some further changes. We are delighted that we now have a school building and grounds that reflect our high ambition and will support our goal in providing an outstanding education for all.
